Creating a new container
Use Container Builder to create a new container.
![]()
To create a new container:
- From the AppBuilder main window, select Build
Container Builder. The Container Builder window appears.
- The window is launched in
AddorFindmode; the Add button and Container list box are both enabled. Choose Add to create a new container, as shown:
![]()
- Enter a Container name (the logical name of the container) just as you would assign a name to any dynamic container.
- Select the Type of container (
DynFold,DynObjc, orDynMenu).- Enter a description and assign the layout to an existing Product Module. Like every other object in the Progress Dynamics Repository, a container must be assigned to a Product Module. You might want to define a general or system Product Module for objects, such as container templates, that can be used in different application modules.
- Complete any optional fields:
- Select a Super procedure name of a procedure that will be instantiated as a super-procedure of the SmartObject.
- If the container being created is to be based on an existing container (template), select the Container from the list box.
- If this container is to be flagged as a template, select the Template Object check box.
- Click Save.
